Join us, if you’d love to lead the set-up and operation of a new Snowflake Cloud Data Warehouse in collaboration with our IT-team and – being part of the business team – gain deep insights from our data.
Your responsibilities
- Set-up end-to-end Cloud Data Warehouse (Snowflake) utilizing best practices from Data Architecture, Data Integration, Data Management and Cloud Computing areas
- Understand business needs and develop Data-Model that optimally supports gaining business insights
- Integration of diverse data sources (internal and external, structured and unstructured) with the Data Warehouse
- Identification and understanding of Source Data Systems. Map Source System Data to Data Model in Snowflake
- Design and develop extraction, load, and transformation (ELT) processes
- Define and capture Meta Data and rules associated with ELT processes
- Work with internal data security colleagues to ensure that sensitive data is properly protected
- Identify and deploy appropriate tools to deliver up-to-date and accurate data to the partner departments
Your profile:
- Extensive knowledge of data modelling (dimensional modelling, Star & Snowflake schema designs), Data Mining methodologies, and latest in the field such as column-store DBMS and cloud based DW design
- SQL code reviews and walkthroughs. Must possess in-depth SQL knowledge in order to understand and review SQL and host language programs and recommend changes for optimization
- Substantive experience in ELT/data integration tools like e.g. Matillion and Fivetran
- Extensive knowledge of common APIs and their connection to Data Warehouses
- Good to have experience working on BI Tools like Looker, Tableau, or PowerBI
- Work experience with large amounts of data and cloud databases would be an added advantage
- You are part analyst and part hand-on technical
- You ideally have a degree with honours in business informatics, industrial engineering, or computer science with a strong commercial interest
- Excellent communication skills in English
