Doodle is the world’s favorite online scheduling tool with more than 25 million monthly users around the globe. People use Doodle to plan everything from dinners with friends and family to business meetings. We are a fast-growing team of 40 passionate engineers, designers, product managers and salespeople spread out in Belgrade, Berlin, Tel Aviv and Zurich.
You’ll be joining our newly formed Data team based in our Zurich office. You and your team will lay the foundation for our data infrastructure that helps Engineers, Data Scientists and Product Managers to develop personalized doodle experiences and further accelerate growth. We build a state of the art data pipeline using Kafka, real time stream processors, spark and various databases (druid, athena and postgresql).
We are specifically looking for:
- BSc or MSc in Computer Science or a related field
- Real passion for collaboration and strong interpersonal skills
- Good understanding of Linux
- Experience in at least one statically typed language. We use Java, Scala and GO
- Also at least one scripting language, preferably Python
- Experience crafting and implementing high-performance RESTful microservices serving millions of requests a day
- Solid understanding of networking and internet plumbing such as TCP, TLS, HTTP
- Strong grasp of database structure, design, query languages (e.g. SQL), fundamentals of mathematics, large data sets, distributed systems and statistical concepts
- Ideally knowledge/Interest in microservices architectures and container orchestration frameworks, such as Kubernetes
