In this role, you design, implement and support data models and ETLs in Hadoop in order to process several terabytes of data each week. You also set up monitor processes and be first in line to deal with and solve data-related problems or errors.
This position involves consulting other internal Big Data experts on best-practices, and training them on real time processing tools, so it is essential that you stay up-to-date on the best practices used in the industry.

What you’ll do:
- Design, implement and support data models and ETLs in Hadoop to enable structured and timely access to our large datasets.
- Migrate and improve existing SQL-based ETLs to Hadoop-based technology to achieve scale and performance.
- Maintain queries processing billions of rows in a distributed query engine.
- With your fresh insight into cutting-edge technologies, you consult the Business Intelligence team on internal data best practices and train them in Hadoop, Pig, Hive and Impala.
- Monitor processes and be first in line to fix problems or errors.
What you’ll definitely need:
- A degree in Computer Science or a similar, role-relevant field.
- At least 2 years’ experience working with Hadoop and large databases.
- A passion for up-to-date trends in Big Data technologies.
- To speak fluent English (our company language).
- To work well independently, to require little direction, and to exhibit a very high willingness to learn new things.
- To be skilled in approaching issues with creativity and innovation, possessing the ability to think beyond traditional frameworks.
