Your Tasks:
- implements and invents statistical and data science algorithms within an object oriented python framework. E.g. regression models (ordinary and generalized least squares), mechanistic models based upon differential equations, Monte Carlo simulations.
- takes care of internal requests about innovative statistical approaches to tackle client needs
- responsible to establish backend functionality (Django) that supports the execution of the algorithms within a software framework
- participation in a young and extremely motivated team of data scientists
Profile/Qualifications:
- Computer Scientist, Data Scientist (B. Sc., M. Sc. or PhD) or equivalent background
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience in Python, Django is a plus
- Experience with libraries used for data science applications, like numpy, scipy, sklearn or similar
- Statistical background/interest in e.g. regression models, mechanistic models and Bayesian statistics
- Interest in creating high-performance software from formal/mathematical descriptions
- Experience in backend development for web-based software applications (ideally using the Django framework)
Additionally preferred qualifications:
- Knowledge/hands-on experience/interest in software architecture (involving UML)
- A good understanding of client/server communication methodologies (REST, WebSocket), and database communication and architecture (PostgreSQL, Django ORM)
- High level in written and verbal English. German is of advantage.

We offer an attractive salary package in line with your qualification, experience and individual competencies. We are legally obliged to state that the minimum salary for this position refers to the applicable collective agreement, which is EUR 31.267,00 p.a. (based on full-time). Of course, we are willing to pay a market-rate salary depending on your qualifications and professional background.
