Your responsibilities
To strengthen our Health Systems and BI Analytics (HSB) department at the sites in Aachen or Hamburg, we are looking for you to join us full time as Data Science Engineer / Architect (m/f/d) as soon as possible in one of our agile teams, which will be responsible for the further development of our Platform for Analytics and Data Insights (PADI).
- You will develop future-oriented data science solutions for use cases in insurance-relevant areas
- You will work on exciting challenges at the project location Aachen/Hamburg together with colleagues from the business units and IT
- You will design novel data architectures for the realization of modern data pipelines and analytics solutions in the context of our Big Data platform
- You design and develop machine learning models, processes and data provision solutions for the insurance of the future
- You analyze inventory as well as streaming data and use our frameworks to further develop data-driven solutions and AI algorithms
- You will access our Big Data ecosystems and use tools for continuous data analytics
- You develop container-based, scalable solutions based on existing software frameworks and access cloud-native services
- You will support access to structured and unstructured data as well as AI-based document processing using cloud and on-premise components
- Using your data science solutions, you will create central assets and enable them to be used and further developed in other decentralized teams
- You are responsible for the reliable deployment of your solutions
- You ensure release management as well as the rollout of existing components and the operation of data science solutions (DevOps)
- You also take on the active consulting of the customer in order to be able to use appropriate technologies for the optimization of business processes
- You cover all DevOps areas and work in agile software development using Continuous Integration to achieve their goals together with the team
Your profile
- You have successfully completed an IT-technical education or an engineering or scientific (computer science, mathematics, physics or similar) degree
- You have in-depth Big Data knowledge and several years of practical experience in the field of data science and working with large data sets
- You are familiar with basic architectures of Big Data ecosystems and have experience in designing data pipelines
- You have very good knowledge in the use of Big Data components
- Self-service and building your own development systems and data analytics ecosystems are natural for you
- You have good knowledge of at least one of the programming languages used at Generali (e.g. Python, Java, Scala, or similar)
- You have in-depth knowledge of using SQL query languages and using them in the context of Hadoop (e.g. using Hive, Beeline, or similar)
- You have experience connecting data sources from Big Data ecosystems and are proficient in streaming technologies (Spark, Kafka, or similar)
- You have in-depth knowledge of cloud architectures and services (AWS, GCP)
- You have very strong experience in software development in teams and have knowledge of versioning and deployment tools (e.g. Git, Subversion, Jenkins)
- You have a proven track record of working as part of an agile development team in the data science space and developing using cloud services
- You do not only know the technology, but also speak the language of the business and know how to work in cross-functional, agile teams
- A methodical, structured approach and strategic thinking are natural to you
- You are able to quickly and independently familiarize yourself with complex issues
- Communication in German and English is no problem for you
- You convince through your customer orientation, motivational and communication skills as well as your confident appearance
