Delivery Hero is growing very fast. Many tasks that could be handled manually in the past are becoming an obstacle to further growth at scale. We need to leverage data science and machine learning in all areas of our business to increase scalability, performance, efficiency and to deliver on our promise of an amazing customer experience.
We are building out a new global Machine Learning Lab to drive the change towards an ML driven company. The mandate for this lab is to build world leading machine learning applications in the food delivery space. We would like you to lead this endeavour.
Your mission:
- Put the right people in place. You will shape and grow a team of recognized machine learning engineers and exceptional data scientists in an agile working environment.
- Help solve hard problems like food classification, rider route optimization, restaurant recommendation, customer support automation, demand forecasting and delivery time prediction.
- Spearhead the development and implementation of ML algorithms and data-pipelines on our global platforms.
- Collaborate with global CEOs and CTOs to drive our tech vision and alignment towards a common global services platform.
- Support our local platforms in creating a world-class machine learning setup through consulting, best-practice sharing and hands-on support.
Your heroic skills:
- 6+ years solving complex problems in some combination of data modeling and machine learning.
- Hands on experience developing machine learning algorithms, using relevant programming languages, frameworks and tools.
- Experience of building and running machine learning solutions in production at scale.
- You translate real-life business problems into technical solutions.
- You are passionate about creating and leading world class teams.
- Strong cross team collaboration skills. This involves interfacing and partnering with technical and business leaders across the organization to deliver solutions for a variety of business and user needs.
- Critical thinking. You are able to find insights in the intersection between business, engineering and data science.
- Enthusiasm to coach and develop more junior scientists and build understanding of ML techniques across the wider division.
