Your tasks
- Taking responsibility for all data science & data engineering technologies and applications in a cloud environment (GCP), incl. design, development and performance optimizations
- Coordination across departments with Product Management, SRE, Localization as well as Backend and Mobile Engineering
- Development of data science & data engineering strategies
- Work with our agile coaches to foster an agile development environment
- Personnel responsibility, including building a high-performance team through recruiting as well as through personal and professional development of the team members
Our requirements
- At least 2 years of experience in a leadership position as well as several years of professional experience in the fields of big data and machine learning
- Relevant experience with cloud technologies (Google BigQuery or Amazon Redshift, Kubernetes, Docker) as well as with building and maintaining big data microservice architectures
- Profound knowledge in data science (A/B testing, time series modelling, statistical modelling) as well as in machine learning (recommendation systems, random forests, deep learning)
- Experience in stream processing (knowledge in dealing with Kafka in particular is an advantage)
- Practical knowledge of the supervision of big data projects including risk management and data security
- Confidence in using Python, R or equivalent is viewed favorably
- Strong entrepreneurial thinking & hands-on mentality
- Highly self-organized with the ability to prioritize and to work well in a dynamic organization
- Excellent communication skills in German and English as well as the ability to work across multiple teams
