Our mission
The future of mobility is shared and autonomous. With electric and self-driving vehicles hitting the roads in the coming years, we are working towards a revolution in urban mobility and increasing the quality of urban life by reducing traffic and emissions.
It’s on us to create remarkable products and services around thousands of autonomous vehicles that bring people to their destinations quickly, safely and as conveniently as possible.
To do so, the Daimler Mobility Services is establishing a hub for future autonomous mobility and builds a customer service platform to operate the self-driving cars and all related user interactions.
The team and work environment
As a self-organised and agile team we work collaboratively to solve complex problems outside of the car. We are an international team of experts which is just about to be set up. Our spirit is determined by a pioneering footprint and the eagerness to build services that make daily mobility easier and hassle-free.
You will be based at our brand new and unique office in the heart of Berlin. We offer modern workplaces with excellent connectivity to public transport. You enable our services landscape to automatically adapt to constantly changing conditions in the cities and user behavior.
Your role
- As a Machine Learning Specialist (f/m) you help tackle problems all the way from routing algorithms, to predicting where the vehicles should go next.
- Develop cutting edge machine learning algorithms for various parts of the online system including routing, predictions, pooling algorithms etc.
- Guide the development of these algorithms from prototype to production - including training on large scale datasets, and deploying on a real time robotic platform.
- Identify new areas (both online and offline) where machine learning can leverage data to enhance performance.
- Design, build and maintain large scale production machine learning pipelines.
Your background
- BS, MS or PhD degree or equivalent in physics, Machine Learning, Computer Science, signal processing or a related field.
- Python, C++, Caffe/TensorFlow
- Expertise in one or more focus areas: deep learning, sequential prediction, structured prediction, sequential models, reinforcement learning, imitation learning, planning under uncertainty, Bayesian inference, model compression, multi-task learning, forecasting etc.
- Experience working with or in support of diverse team structures.
- Passion for transportation or next generation technologies
- Hard-working, passionate, do-it-yourselfer who loves to get stuff done.
- A strong desire to learn, collaborate and mentor.
In addition to competitive salaries and flexible work schedules, we provide:
- Monthly team bonding events – everything from trapeze to ramen-making!
- Plenty of opportunities for growth and mentorship
- Welcome dinners and happy hours for all new team members – we appreciate and value everyone who joins!
