Your mission:
One of the guiding concepts of the DLR-aeronautical research is the “virtual product”: The digital representation of a vehicle with all its characteristics over the whole life cycle. The institute of Software Methods for Product Virtualisation researches and develops the necessary basis for an end-to-end digitalization. We are searching for committed scientists to enhance our researches in the field of data traceability (in particular by means of metadata).

Your tasks will be among others
- Literature research regarding the current status of the research
- Development of new methods for collecting and storing metadata in digital process chains, prototypical implementation as well as evaluation and test in the Use Case
- Transmission of appropriate methods for collecting and storing metadata from other domains
- Final implementation and test of the developed software methods according to the quality assured software development, based on the prototype
- Integration of the implemented methods in existing tools and process chains, assistance in the integration with other domains
- Publication of the results and method description on scientific conferences and in famous magazines
- Cooperation in equivalent research projects
Your qualifications:
- Completed scientific university studies in the course of study informatics (also in bioinformatics/geoinformatics), mathematics, physics, aerospace technology or comparable (diploma/masters)
- Experience in the software development and especially in the software development in the scientific sector
- Very good programming skills in at least one high-level language (Java/C++/Python/…), good programming skills in at least one other language
- Good German and English language skills in word and script
- Capacity to work in a team and to complete scheduled tasks independently
- Experiences with verification and validation in the software sector are welcome
- Skills and practical experiences with artificial intelligence are welcome
