As a Senior Data Analyst for our Markets management at Zalando Lounge, you will help to foster a more consumer centric market strategy for our Zalando Lounge channel. While putting data at the core of our decisions and processes, you will support us in financial planning, descriptive and predictive analytics, and deep dive analysis as part of our mission to improve user experience and portfolio effectiveness.
WHERE YOUR EXPERTISE IS NEEDED
- You drive the knowledge of our market economics forward: you define models that enable us to analyse and understand market needs, patterns, and trends, and ensure that your models are accessible for others.
- You bring the team to the next level when it comes to our localization strategy. Based on data you build a market value driver tree, and with your data storytelling skills influence the team in taking better, data-based, decisions and actions.
- You are the go-to person for deep dive analyses and visualisation on large & diverse data sets. Through your insights you help the team to understand our diverse customers and translate these insights into meaningful actions (e.g.: how to improve our portfolio market fit, what are the merchandising drivers for customer satisfaction, how can we positively shape customer behavior with our campaign strategy …).
- You serve as a mentor for junior Analysts and coach your commercial colleagues to help them grow their analytical capabilities. You will support the team in getting and preparing the data they need in order to make daily business decisions.
- You are an excellent communicator when it comes to explaining results as well as analytical techniques to non-analysts. You have an in-depth understanding of the business and its KPIs used for steering. Thus you easily translate questions from business colleagues into testable hypotheses and research questions to drive business to the next level.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Proven track record of 5+ years as a quantitative Analyst, ideally in fast paced e-commerce environment. You balance technical acumen with business understanding and excel in collaborating with commercial stakeholders to drive insightful, robust analyses.
- Proficient in data transformation and statistical computing in Python (e.g. pandas, matplotlib, numpy, ) or R (dplyr, tidyr, ggplot2, RMarkdown). Proficient in SQL and experience with Spark/Databricks (PySpark) and data visualisation in Tableau. Experience with web data analytics and database design is a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a detail oriented and self-starter mindset. You value a diverse and fast-paced business environment, and hence couple your passion for big data with pragmatism to drive actions and impact.
- Excellent educational background in Economics, Social Studies, Mathematics, Statistics or similar quantitative field. Advanced degree preferred.
