I work as a Data Scientist in the logistics team of Takeaway.com, my main tasks are to gather and analyse our data and to transform it into valuable predictions for the entire business. Our team works closely together, we deal with a lot of challenges. I like to think about my team as a second family.As a Data Scientist at Takeaway you will: Evaluate, propose and implement effective machine learning models (forecast models/ shift planning models) based on industry trends, relevant external events and historical data to continuously improve predictions for our logistics operations, Benchmark and monitor model performance to identify optimization potential in our logistic and planning solutions; unique opportunity to take end-to-end ownership of the models in production and own the business impact. Keep updated about the latest ML/DL algorithms/frameworks/libraries to continually improve model architecture and performance. Prepare documentation to guide data engineers and developers about the model architecture; prepare slide decks for Product Manager/Scrum Master to inform them about the development workflow. Support management team with hiring and planning activities , Play a key role within the Data Science team - be responsible for implementing a cutting-edge data-driven strategy for Takeaway.com, Collaborate with data engineers, software developers, UI/UX researchers and product manager(s) to help create a world-class forecasting/planning product used for operations planning in over 100 cities each day. To be successful in the role we believe you should be: Precise communicator, collaborative with strong (technical/business)stakeholder management skills. Have a hands-on approach to testing hypotheses with data, scientific and solution-oriented thinking, ability to critically question analyses, especially your own and drive for continuous learning. Mastery of SQL is a must and experience with a version-control system like GitHub/GitLab is a strong plus. Experience working with AWS Sagemaker/DataBricks/GCP or any other MLOps platform is preferred but not necessary. Experience working in an agile environment will be preferred. 4+ years of experience working with Python in a Software Engineering/Data Science role, with 2+ years of experience in Machine/Deep learning methodologies like gradient boosting, time-series analysis with fbprophet/ARIMA models. Familiarity with OR tools is a plus for candidates interested in Shift Planning optimization. Expertise with Python libraries like Pandas, scikit-learn, xgboost, LightGBM etc. is a must. Experience with deep learning libraries like PyTorch/TensorFlow is a plus. An academic degree (MSc and/or PhD) in Computer Science, Econometrics/Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics or another related field with a strong emphasis on quantitative analysis is a plus.
