Senior Java Big Data Engineer (m/f) at smava GmbH (Berlin, Germany)

Our IT-Team focuses on steadily improving our smava ecosystem of personal credit solutions. We continuously develop our online loan comparison platform and implement new product features. The whole application system consists of more than 50 individual services. And now, in the continuous process of achieving strategic goals, we are looking for Senior Java Big Data Engineer (m/f) who will redesign our data models to its best and will take care of the efficient use of the database.

Our tech stack you will work with:

• Java Spring (Boot)
• SQL / NoSQL
• Apache Kafka (stream processing)
• Apache Spark & Flink (big data analysis)

Your daily business:

• Redesign and refactor our data models and drive the use of data persistence technologies in a proper way
• Develop a real-time data warehouse using state of the art data streaming technologies (Kafka)
• Make sure that we can successfully run, scale and maintain the real-time machine learning in production
• Provide efficient use of database and continuous data flow, moving from production data into our data warehouse
• Implement developed Machine Learning algorithms by Data Science

To get things done you will need:

• At least four years of working experience with Java Spring framework
• Experience in  SQL & NoSQL based data management (PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, Redis)
• Know-how of Big Data analysis
• Good knowledge of data persistence technologies in Java

Nice-to-have:

• Expertise in Spring Cloud Netflix
• Experience working with ElasticSearch
• Sound knowledge of Apache Spark, Flink
