We are looking for a Senior / Mid-level Data Engineer - (Global Service Tech) (f/m/d) to join our Global Service Tech team and to contribute to the creation of Delivery Hero’s new Automation & Support Platform.
As Delivery Hero grows, addressing our customer’s, rider’s, or restaurant’s support issues quickly and with as little friction as possible is crucial to our ability to create an amazing experience for our users.
In order to achieve this goal, we are building our own Automation & Support Platform to manage in-app support, self-service flows, transactional communication, automation of business processes, and other technologies that make ticket resolution more seamless. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will take ownership over technical and product decisions, closely interact with users to collect feedback and contribute to our thoughtful, dynamic team culture around the world. From building our global data backbone to crafting scalable, production models and APIs, to generating actionable insights which can change the competitive landscape of continents.

Your mission:
Designing, implementing and maintaining a business-facing data warehouse that will support our commitment to analytics and data-driven business philosophy.
Designing, implementing and maintaining batch, near-time, and real-time data processing pipelines and analytical workflows.
ETL and data sync processes for cleaning and structuring data.
Extracting data from various 3rd party tools and APIs.
Write documentation for your scripts as well as for internal knowledge sharing.
Stay up-to-date with latest developments in data processing, and implement novel approaches to improve the performance of our data platform.
Your Heroic skills:
You have at least a Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative subject or corresponding work experience.
You have 5+ years of data engineering experience.
You have expert knowledge of SQL and experience working with large data sets and extensive knowledge in databases (PostgreSQL, BigQuery etc.).
You are an expert in Python with proven practical experience.
You have experience with processing of large amounts of structured and unstructured data in a cloud environment.
You have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Nice to have:
Apache Airflow, Luigi, or other DAG schedulers
Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, or other Infrastructure-as-Code technologies
Jupyter, Zeppelin, or other notebook interfaces
