The Premium Services team consists of around 40 people all working to support our Premium customers and their daily (working) lives. The product teams work together with the Business Development department to develop and realize new ideas for our Premium membership. Our constantly growing Premium Services business unit also deals with advertising and new B2C business models by implementing agile methods.
A challenging task
- Be a people leader of a data driven, cross-functional, multi-cultural engineering team (data engineering, backend, frontend, QA) and find the right balance between servant leadership and clear guidance to help everyone be at their best and grow even better.
- Work closely with Product Owner and your team to find effective technical solutions which get the job done and scale in speed, size, and extensibility.
- Be passionate about and responsible for continuously improving development processes. Join forces with your agile coach to become the delivery leads of your teams.
- Find and hire bright and quick-thinking engineers who like working in smart, diverse teams, and have a “getting-things-done” attitude
- Actively shape the technology strategy together with the Engineering Director and the VP and assist your PO in discovering new opportunities in product and business.
A convincing background
- You have already led cross-functional teams in agile environments or worked as a Lead Developer or a comparable technical leadership role for at least two years.
- You have a couple of years of hands-on software development or data science/engineering experience and understand the pains and glory of building and shipping code first-hand. Developing, testing, releasing, and monitoring software has been a focal point of your career and you do not shy away from deep diving into technical issues.
- People trust you and you understand people, you support them and can offer them tailored development paths that bring out their best.
- You understand software architecture (web and mobile) and you can provide architectural guidance. Ideally you have a Computer Science degree and are familiar with various Databases, Ruby on Rails, Scala, Spark or similar technologies.
- You communicate openly and clearly in English (German not required).
