- You help internal clients with pragmatic strategic & ad-hoc data requirements
- You work closely with data scientists and engineers to build personalized experiences for our users
- You drive research initiatives to innovate and support our data driven approach
- You discover, extract and process data from multiple sources (in-house and third party)
- You create confidence in our data by tests, automation and monitoring
- Our team enables secure and seamless access to data to build data products for HolidayCheck. Our clients are Data Scientists, Business Analysts and Product owners. We touch almost every team in HolidayCheck.
- We are an international team at multiple locations across Europe
- Our main programming languages are Scala and Python
- Our tech stack includes, but is not limited to Airflow, Apache Spark, Hadoop, AWS, Ansible, Kafka and most of relational/non-relational databases
Your Profile:
- You are eager to learn new technologies
- You are able to transform solutions into code
- You are comfortable with SQL
- You are proficient in Python and/or Scala (or any other OOP programming language) and are willing to bridge the gap in the first 3 months
- You come with a DevOps mindset (we build it, we maintain it)
- You have clear understanding of the Map/Reduce paradigm and experience with Spark/Hadoop. Prior experience in building and scaling ETL projects on a big data platform is advantageous
- You are able to understand complex topics, including business traits and user behavior
- You use modern tools and are generally efficient and test-driven
- You are a true agilist and are keen on delivering working software
- You are non-religious about specific systems, frameworks, languages or tools
- You can focus on deliverables and small increments but also are not afraid of huge changes and humongous amounts of data
- You are proud to show your github.com account, research papers or other interesting achievements
- You can clearly communicate in English. German or Polish is a plus
