As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be working with Analysts, Data Scientists and Product Managers across the business to design and implement processes that extract, transform, and load data, working with live data streams, managing and optimizing the data warehouse, and deploying machine learning models.
WHERE YOUR EXPERTISE IS NEEDED
- Develop, implement and maintain sustainable, high-performance data-processing and data integration pipelines using relational/columnar databases and ETL tools.
- Consulting with Analysts, Data Scientists and Product Managers to build and continuously improve a variety of data products that create value for our business.
- Be a sparring partner to other members of the team, and provide support and guidance to other engineers to help develop their technical capabilities.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Extensive experience in building, testing and deploying ETL flows and/or data pipelines. Knowledge of workflow management tools such as Airflow is a clear plus.
- Hands-on programming experience in Python and/or Scala.
- Advanced skills in SQL for relational/columnar databases (Redshift, Oracle, ExaSol), ideally with database administration and optimisation experience.
- Hands-on experience in cloud technologies (AWS ideally), container/orchestration tools (Kubernetes, Docker) as well as Spark/Databricks is not compulsory, but would be highly appreciated.
